Charis Home takes great pride in our dedicated team of caregivers who deliver high-quality care and services to each resident with genuine compassion and a deep understanding of their individual needs and preferences. Our comprehensive resident services include:
Nutritious Meals – A rotating four-week menu featuring healthy, well-balanced meals.
Personal Care – Assistance with daily living activities such as bathing/showers, grooming, dressing, and eating, provided as needed to support each resident’s independence and comfort.
Medication Management – Our certified staff, approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON), administer medications safely and accurately. Residents on nine or more medications are evaluated by a pharmacist every six months to minimize risk and ensure appropriate use.
Healthcare Coordination – Transportation is available to support residents in attending medical appointments and staying connected with their healthcare providers.
Social and Spiritual Activities – A personalized plan encourages participation in enriching activities that support residents’ mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
Access to Social Services – Contracted transportation ensures residents have safe and convenient access to local agencies for legal or community support services.
Daily Monitoring – Our staff provides 24-hour supervision to ensure safety and timely response to any needs.
Housekeeping and Laundry – Daily cleaning of both the facility and personal clothing helps maintain a clean and comfortable environment.
24/7 On-Call RN Supervision – A registered nurse is available around the clock to oversee care and respond to health concerns.

Because every resident is unique, our registered nurse develops a personalized care plan tailored to meet each person’s specific needs and preferences.
Activities & Entertainment
Charis Home offers a vibrant activity program coordinated by the Assisted Living Manager (ALM), who is responsible for organizing daily activities and events tailored to residents’ interests and abilities. These may include, but are not limited to:
Daily Exercise and regularly scheduled neighborhood walks (weekly or biweekly, as able).
Games such as cards, board games, trivia—individually or in groups/partners.
Arts & Crafts for creative expression.
Social Events, including occasional receptions, dinner parties, or open house gatherings.
Bulletin Postings with articles on current events and notices related to staff matters of interest to residents.
Shopping Trips and Local Tours (as able and within short distances).
Spiritual Activities (optional): These include daily morning inspiration such as reading and meditating on a Bible verse. Arrangements can be made for each resident to attend or participate in religious services of their personal choice. Participation in these activities is entirely voluntary. Residents may choose religious activities of their preference with notification to and approval by the medical team and ALM. No resident will be denied participation unless it poses a safety risk to themselves or others. Every effort is made to accommodate the religious and spiritual needs of each individual.
Dining
The dining experience at Charis Home offers residents and staff a chance to enjoy nutritious, home-cooked meals together in a warm, communal setting. Meals are served three times daily, creating opportunities for meaningful conversations and engagement before and after mealtimes. These discussions may cover topics chosen by residents, with guidance and support from staff.
Snacks and beverages are available throughout the day and upon request. Room service is also offered when appropriate—particularly when a resident needs to be temporarily isolated for medical or health-related reasons, to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents and staff.
Facility Meetings may be scheduled by the ALM during a designated meal time, allowing residents (and their families, when invited) to provide feedback and share suggestions to enhance the community experience.
Housekeeping & Laundry Services
- Charis Home maintains a structured housekeeping and laundry schedule, carried out by a dedicated team of staff who:
- Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of all indoor and outdoor areas of the property.
- Clean and sanitize each resident’s room daily, or more frequently as needed.
- Perform detailed deep cleaning of rooms and common areas on a weekly basis.
- Provide laundry service for linens on a weekly schedule, with additional support as needed.
- Handle personal laundry for each resident twice a week, or more frequently when required.
- Our goal is to maintain a clean, comfortable and dignified environment for all residents at all times.
